Biography
Over the last 3 years Christine Reid has served the membership of IBEW Local Union 77 as their Political Director. The IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Local Union 77 represents approximately 8,300 members in Washington, Northern ID, and Montana. Christine is a registered lobbyist in WA state and advocates for her members who primarily work within the utilities in; generation, transmission, distribution and delivery of energy, as well as the hundreds of different supporting job classifications held by members.
Her ongoing work includes partnering with our state's utilities in Olympia on energy policy and advocating for workforce and worker safety. Most recently this last year successfully passing HB 1542, requiring automated external defibrillators be available and accessible when work is being performed on or in close proximity of high voltage lines and equipment.
Christine is a rank-and-file member with IBEW 77, having started in 2006 with Puget Sound Energy. She continues to serve as; a Trustee of the Snohomish County & Island Labor Council, Executive Board member for Forth Mobility, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing equitable access to clean transportation. Centralia College Center of Excellence in Clean Energy representing Labor, and Board member on the Win with Women Political Action Committee.
Identifying shared priorities, coalition building, and open communications are the key to success. Together we can accomplish much.
